As quickly as this rumor flared up, we’re here to douse it.

There’s “absolutely no truth” to Internet rumors that Michael Jordan’s girlfriend Yvette Prieto is pregnant, according to a spokeswoman for the former Bulls legend.

“With all due respect to the media’s need to disseminate information quickly, it might behoove some reporters to make a phone call or call our office for accuracy,” said Jordan’s longtime spokeswoman, Estee Portnoy, in a phone conversation this morning. “Many of these Web sites do not do that. If they had called, I would have let them know immediately” that the rumors were false.

We pointed yesterday here at Sports Pros(e) to a post on MediaTakeout.com that stated Prieto was pregnant. But Portnoy insists their report is entirely inaccurate, offering no further information but to squash any more speculation.

“I want to let the people know that the media isn’t even calling our office for comment before they go ahead and print rumors,” Portnoy added.

Jordan and Prieto purchased a house together in suburban Miami last October.

Jordan has two sons and a daughter with his ex-wife, Juanita.
