Video: Martellus Bennett highlights from 2012
The Bears have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with tight end Martellus Bennett, who had a break out season for the New York Giants in 2012.
Bennett, 26, had 55 catches for 626 yards and five touchdowns last season. According to Pro Football Focus’ rankings, Bennett (6-6, 265 pounds) was the NFL’s fifth-best overall tight end in 2012.
In other words, Bennett is a big upgrade over Bears tight ends Kellen Davis, Matt Spaeth and Kyle Adams. The Bears ranked last in receptions by tight ends in 2011 and 2012.
