Jeremiah Ratliff’s old team files complaint against him following his departure from Cowboys
The Cowboys have filed a complaint against Bears defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff, owner Jerry Jones told Dallas media Monday the NFL owner’s meetings.
Ratliff — who signed a five-year, $40 million extension with the Cowboys in 2011 — did not play for the Cowboys last season while recovering from sports hernia surgery. He was released in October and signed with the Bears soon thereafter. The Bears signed Ratliff to a two-year deal this month.
The complaint “stems from him not playing for us under the premise of injury, and later playing for someone else,” Jones told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and others.
The newspaper said, citing sources, that the Cowboys want to recoup money from a signing bonus, base salary and a AT&T Stadium suite.
Ratliff’s agent declined comment Monday.
