Source: Bears expected to release DT Matt Toeaina
The Bears are expected to release veteran defensive tackle Matt Toeaina, who is expected to decline a pay cut, according to a league source.
Toeaina was due a $760,000 base salary, with a $290,000 roster bonus and $75,000 workout bonus.
Toeaina is currently in Rome on vacation, a source said.
Once they release him, the Bears will save $1.125 million in salary cap space.
The Bears saved $2.5 million earlier Wednesday by releasing tight end Kellen Davis.
