Bears met with Arizona State DT Will Sutton
Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton, a two-time first-team All-American and two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, met with the Bears this week, league sources told the Sun-Times.
Sutton, considered a good fit as the 3-technique defensive tackle in the Bears’ 4-3 system, was only the second player in conference history to win the defensive award twice, alongside Washington star Steve Emtman.
The 6-foot, 292-pounder had 20 1/2 sacks in college, including 13 — along with three forced fumbles and five pass deflections — as a junior. Double-teamed as a bulked-up senior, Sutton had three sacks, a fumble recovery and an interception
His father, Mickey, played defensive back for the Rams, Packers and Bills.
