Bears’ Matt Slauson sitting out OTAs after offseason shoulder surgery
Bears left guard Matt Slauson did not participate in Tuesday’s organized team activities, nor will he in the next few weeks, as he recovers from offseason right shoulder surgery.
Slauson, who played every snap last season, could have played this season with the injury, but decided to get it fixed about three-and-a-half months ago, a source confirmed to the Sun-Times. He should be ready to return by training camp; his recovery is ahead of schedule.
Slauson — along with defensive tackle Nate Collins and safeties Chris Conte and Craig Steltz — were in attendance but did not participate in Tuesday’s Day 1 of OTAs because of injury.
Eben Britton played left guard with the first team Tuesday.
