Bears hire Pat Meyer as assistant offensive line coach
Bears head coach Marc Trestman has hired Pat Meyer, his offensive coordinator with the Montreal Alouettes last season, as an assistant offensive line coach. Meyer is the third Alouettes assistant to join Trestman with the Bears, following Andy Bischoff (tight ends) and Michael Sinclair (assistant defensive line).
Meyer, who just completed his first season in the CFL, was the only coach Trestman hired in five seasons with the Alouettes whom he previously had worked with. Meyer was the strength and conditioning coordinator (2005-06) and offensive line coach (2006) at North Carolina State when Trestman was the Wolfpack’s offensive coordinator under Chuck Amato in 2005-06.
Meyer also was a strength and conditioning coach at Florida State (2007) and offensive line coach (2008-11) and offensive coordinator (2010-11) at his alma mater, Colorado State.
