Jay Cutler eyes Dec. 9 return for Bears vs. Cowboys
Jay Cutler wants to return from his high left ankle sprain on Dec. 9, when the Bears host the Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.”
“I’d be pretty disappointed if I wasn’t able to play for that game,” the quarterback said on his weekly ESPN1000 AM radio show.
Cutler, who was ruled out by coach Marc Trestman for Sunday’s Vikings game, had his cast removed last week. He’s now in a brace and has started to “strengthen that area back up,” he said.
“Whenever you tear stuff in there, you’re gonna lose a lot of strength,” he said, “You’re going to lose a lot of mobility.”
Cutler, who suffered the sprain 15 days ago against the Lions, said his previously torn groin feels good.
“I hate the position that I’m in right now,” he said.
