Chris Conte suffers concussion against Seahawks
SEATTLE — Safety Chris Conte made two strong tackles in his first game back from shoulder surgery Friday against the Seattle Seahawks in exhibition play, but left in the third quarter with a concussion.
Conte replaced Danny McCray in the second quarter during the Bears’ third defensive series. He had a strong hit on tight end Luke Wilson, breaking up a touchdown reception in the end zone.
Conte later flipped tight end Cooper Helfet on an eight-yard reception. Wilson returned after being evaluated for a possible concussion and Helfet suffered a shoulder injury.
In the third quarter, Conte failed to tackle running back Christine Michael on a screen play and was shaken up. He was then evaluated for a concussion.
