Blackhawks’ Teuvo Teravainen’s immediate future still unclear
Blackhawks rookie Teuvo Teravainen will be a healthy scratch for the fourth straight game Wednesday against Montreal.
Teravainen, along with Peter Regin and Matt Carey, were wearing white jerseys as the Hawks’ “fifth line” during Tuesday’s practice. Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said the team will decide soon if Teravainen will get in one of the last two games of the season, or if he’ll be sent to Rockford at some point.
“We’ll see about the weekend,” Quenneville said.
Teravainen said he hadn’t been informed of the team’s immediate plans for him yet.
“I don’t know, I’m just living day by day here,” Teravainen said. “It’s been great here, and I’m learning every day, all the things I’m doing, the team stuff. I’m getting more confident, it’s a great experience and I think I’m in good shape.”
Asked if he’d prefer to stay in Chicago as a non-playing Black Ace, or play down the stretch and possibly the playoffs for Rockford, Teravainen shrugged.
“I have no idea of anything,” he said. “I’m just practicing and having fun here.”
