Mariano’s opens first converted Dominick’s
Mariano’s on Tuesday opened a grocery store in Park Ridge, the first of 11 former Dominick’s stores the chain will convert to the Mariano’s brand.
It was the second time Roundy’s CEO Bob Mariano cut a ribbon at the store at 1900 S. Cumberland Ave. He was chief executive of Dominick’s when that chain opened the store in 1998, the Park Ridge Herald-Advocate reported.
“This is fun,” Mariano said. “Park Ridge is a great community and this always was a great site. I’m glad to come back and reenergize it.”
The next converted store will open Feb. 25 at 1822 Willow Road, Northfield.
