Report: Malia Obama, 15, works on Halle Berry TV show
Malia Obama may not be much of a TV watcher, but she appears to have designs on becoming a TV worker.
The Wrap reports that the first couple’s oldest child, who turns 16 on July 4, put in a day as a production assistant on the Los Angeles set of “Extant,” an upcoming CBS sci-fi series starring Halle Berry.
“She helped with computer shop alignments, and the director also let her slate a take,” an insider told the site.
The report was not confirmed by CBS or the White House.
Now on summer break from the Sidwell Friends private school in Washington, Malia joined her parents for a trip to California for Father’s Day weekend.
In February, her mom told Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” that Malia and sister Sasha, 13, are mostly into sports and school. “We keep them busy, away from the TV,” Michelle Obama said.
On “Extant,” premiering July 9, Berry plays an astronaut back home after a mystifying year in space and trying to reconnect with her family. The show is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios.
