Meet Cubs catcher George Kottaras’ dog
Meet George Kottaras.
The catcher came over to the Cubs from the Royals in November to provide back-up to Welington Castillo. Last year, he hit .180 in 29 games with five home runs and 12 RBIs.
He also has a dog.
Meet Leo, Kottaras’ eight-month-old yellow lab. Leo has become a common sight in Mesa, Ariz. as the Cubs go through spring training, something we should all be thankful for.

“It’s my first child. He acts like a child. He’s playful and the 100-percent love he gives is amazing.”

Kottaras got the OK from Cubs manager Rick Renteria to let Leo hang around practice.
Leo is mostly well-behaved, but puppies are gonna pup.
