After the Final Rose: The Morning After
We spoke with Sean Lowe, Catherine Giudici and Lindsay Yenter today – here’s the rundown on some random Bachelor trivia:
* The wedding. No date has been set but some details have been worked out. Chris Harrison won’t officiate, Sean said, since both his father and grandfather are ordained ministers. Sean hasn’t picked a best man yet but Catherine will have the friend who signed her up for “The Bachelor” as her maid of honor. Emily Maynard, who booted Sean off “The Bachelorette,” won’t be invited, Sean said. It’s unclear if Lindsay will make the guest list –she’s the runner-up who Sean loves but isn’t in love with –but she said she’ll be there if they ask.
“Of course I would come,” she said. “We have a friendship so it’s great.”
The metallic dresses in the finale –silver for Lindsay and gold for Catherine –were coincidental, Catherine said. The contestants wear their own clothes throughout the show but have some help from the wardrobe department for the big rejection/proposal.
Lindsay Yenter is done with being on television. After a month of nursing a broken heart at her parent’s Missouri home, she is living in Orange County and teaching. No one asked her to be “The Bachelorette” but she sounded like she wasn’t interested.
“You know, I’m very content with my normal life,” she said. “I have a wonderful teaching job. I live where I live. I really want to focus on my career now as a teacher….I love normal. I’m not really looking to be on another TV show.”
The producers played a big role in engineering Lindsay’s wedding gown entrance. She said she was sick with a sinus infection so the producers were scheming with her for a way she could make a big entrance and then go hide in a corner, sick, for the rest of the first night. She liked what the wedding dress represented.
“I really want to be a wife and mother and thought this was a fun way of showing that,” she said.
Sean doesn’t like “the fame aspect” because, in part, he can’t go out with his Dallas buddies without people wanting to pose for pictures with him. Still, this wasn’t enough to make him pass up the “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to go on “Dancing with the Stars.”
“I’m a person that loves to try new things and step outside my comfort zone,” he said.
Catherine said she would be “front and center” cheering Sean and his partner Peta Murgatroyd. She might want to try to pick up a few moves.
“We might have one of the best wedding dances of all time once this thing is said and done,” he said.
On Sean’s abs and jealousy –Catherine said she is jealous of Sean’s outrageous abdominals, but not jealous of all the women ogling them. For his part, Sean was uncomfortable with the countless shirtless shots as well as any “steamy makeouts,” which made him think of his grandmother watching. The low point was a Sean shirt-free montage set to what Sean described as 1970s-era porn music seen in the special episode where Sean explained his motives to Chris Harrison.
Jef Holm, ex-fiancee of former Bachelorette Emily Maynard, is Sean’s choice for the next Bachelor. Catherine’s vote goes to John “Wolf” Wolfner (I know, we had to look him up too).
Lindsay is dating someone but isn’t talking about it. More importantly, she divulged that she used Redken products to keep her hair frizz-free regardless of the climate, from Canadian cold to Thai jungle.
